Desktop Ponies Tutorial by Botchan-MLP Desktop Ponies Tutorial by Botchan-MLP
Since I get repeatedly asked about how I make pony sprites, I created this simple step-by-step tutorial for making a basic trotting sprite.

This is the first time I made a tutorial and I may not be very good at explaining things, but I still hope that you will find this useful.

Where did you get the trot base from?

... Really? I mentioned it right at the beginning of the tutorial.
But you can also find it in :iconanonycat:'s gallery.

hello! i was just wondering if you knew of a faster way to recolour the base without going over it with the pencil tool frame by frame. I've tried using "add and replace" but it dosn't seem to get the colour quite right, leaving it still tinted grey. do you know any other methods i could use? or maybe a way to improve the add and replace tool?

Well, since I have no idea what program you use, I can't really comment on that. What I do is using a simple color replacer tool. Most image editing programs I'm aware of have that. Even good old Windows Paint.
